"The Bush Dance" is the third single lifted from Darren Coggan’s outstanding album “Balancing Act” and features the diverse talents of Dobe Newton, founding member of legendary Australian band “The Bushwackers”.
Produced by 2002 CMAA record producer of the year, Nash Chambers, Balancing Act contains twelve powerful new songs that are bold, spirited and passionate.
“I have had so much fun recording and performing this song.” Commented Darren. "I spent many a Saturday night as a young boy kicking up my heels at the local Bush Dances in old halls around Wagga Wagga. An innocent yet exhausting night of fun and laughter. This song is a tribute to all the great Bush Bands in Australia. Bands like “The Tin Shed Rattlers” and indeed the mighty “Bushwackers”. To have Dobe Newton, from the “Bushwackers”, perform with me on this track was just awesome. He was the perfect ingredient to this rollicking, jolly old tune.”
1996 Toyota Star Maker, Darren was awarded a Golden Guitar for 'Vocal Collaboration of the Year' at the 2001 Australian Country Music Awards. This same year he was also inducted into the 'Country Music Hands Of Fame', established by 'The Australian Country Music Foundation' to recognize outstanding contributions to the music industry. Most recently he was named ‘Australian Independent Male Vocalist Of The Year, 2003’ and awarded the ‘Centenary Medal’ for ‘Services to Australian Society through Country Music’.
