WelcomePeace Train Heads For HomeDarren Coggan returns to the Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre to treat his beloved home town to a special preview performance of his critically acclaimed show Peace Train – The Cat Stevens Story before he and his team embark on a massive 67 show, national tour of Australia. Since it’s debut performance at the Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre back in 2006, Peace Train – The Cat Stevens Story, has gone on to inspire many others, playing to standing ovations in the most prestigious venues in Australia including The Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Arts Centre Hamer Hall, Adelaide Festival Theatre, QPAC Concert Hall Brisbane, and Burswood Theatre. This next phase of this shows’ incredible journey will see the Peace Train roll into 38 theatres across Australia over 16 weeks. "On this national tour we envisage performing to an estimated audience of 40,000 people, predominantly throughout regional Australia," said Darren. "It feels so comfortable to be launching this tour from where it all began back in 2006. The majority of our team who will be touring with us are still all based here in this great city so I couldn’t think of a more appropriate place to rehearse and preview the show for this tour, it’s always re-assuring to go back to the well." Peace Train – The Cat Stevens Story, is a night of music and story-telling which will strike a chord deep inside the heart of anyone who longs for something more; A journey back in time, recreating the sights and sounds, seeking out the man in the music and telling the story behind the songs. Hear twenty-three hits sung with remarkable authenticity by one of Australia’s most exciting young artists, backed by a high-energy band. From Moonshadow, to Remember The Days Of The Old School Yard, Lady D’Arbanville, Sad Lisa, Father & Son and Peace Train, Darren Coggan traces the path of a man who never stopped wondering about how to make the world a better place. "Cat's timeless songs and his message of peace, tolerance and understanding are just as important in our world today as when they were first written, perhaps even more so" said Darren. "This is a full theatrical experience with a positive and passionate narrative".Darren Coggan has toured extensively with stage shows Grease – The Mega Musical, Happy Days – The Arena Mega Musical, and Shout – The Musical Of The Wild One. Meanwhile, he has appeared regularly on TV, including several guest appearances on Channel 7's All Saints and recently was awarded his second Golden Guitar at the 37th CMAA Country Music Awards for his moving album War Stories.
