Born in Wodonga, Brett studied music at Box Hill College of Music and the Victorian College of the Arts. His theatre credits include SHOUT! (Jacobsen Ent), CATS (Really Useful Company) and Leader of the Pack.

As a member of the Missy Higgins band Brett toured Australia and the world. With Missy he was lucky enough to support Neil and Tim Finn on the Australian leg their ‘Everyone is Here’ tour as well as David Gray in London’s Hyde Park. In 2005 he was part of the Tsunami Relief concert ‘Waveaid’ (held at the SCG) and has appeared live on radio and television in Australia, U.K. and U.S. including: MTV, Music Max, CD USA, O2 Wireless Festival (UK) and Alice Radio (San Fransisco).

Brett is co-creator and Musical Director for BPMbeatsperminute - a show that has enjoyed sell-out seasons at the Sydney Opera House, Chapel off Chapel and the Adelaide Festival as well as a four month national tour in 2005.
